Carlos-TP12

On Tuesday, Dongseok and I met for the last time at the final tea time. When I informed him that this would be our last time meeting together and that I was leaving rather abruptly on Thursday, the conversation turned somewhat sentimental real quick hah. Dongseok and I really got to know each other, and he expressed how helpful our sessions were to improving his speaking skills. We spoke briefly of our future plans and exchanged our good lucks before we began speaking like we usually do. I brought my laptop with me and decided to go on an english idiom website so we could touch base on common and up to date idoms used by people our age. Throughout our sessions, Dongseok keeps a log of idioms that he can use in his own speech, and I've been able to speak naturally with him as he would like to pick up much of the speech I use. He has even has began to use some of my lingo! I've enjoyed having Dongseok as my tutee and genuinely wish I could see him through his CIES days. He is one of the more eager CIES students I've met this semester. He is hungry to learn more native speaking English and is very very receptive to correction. Although I know it is unrealistic to think I wil be blessed with students like this in my future endeavors, I do appreciate Dongseok's energy and eagerness to take in information. I plan to keep in contact with him, as well as all the other CIES students I've met, and I look forward to see where they all end up in the next couple of months.
