Carolina TP8
After my class observation I met Asma, who talked in class about how she didn’t have enough time to work on her homework because she was translating all of it into Arabic and then back into English. I came up to her after my class observation and offered my help as her tutor. She said she had worked with one before and they didn’t help much, but I said I would be more than happy to meet with her at least once and see if it helped her at all. So a few days later I got a call and met up with her that same day and helped her edit a paper she had to turn in for her CIES classes. We went over it sentence by sentence and I taught her ways to cut her bad habit of run-on sentences and taught her most of the comma rules. I’m making her a handout of all the comma rules and she said she wants to write an article every week and meet with me and have me edit it and critique her English and sentence construction. She is so sweet and grateful and I’m so glad I could finally provide her some help.
