After taking a smoke break, Metab returned to me to continue our session. Because he wants to practice his speaking, I had Metab read through the list with me again. Then, I told him to make up sentences with the words for me. This proved difficult, so it was slow-going, especially because he kept trying to use Arabic. I see this being a problem for him in the future - he has to break the habit of hanging out with all the Saudi guys and only speaking Arabic. Planning lessons for Metab is going to be difficult for me, and I think for the time being I will just try to play it by ear. The next time we meet I am going to quiz him on the list of words, and then focus on whatever he reports difficulty with from his classes.
